On October 9, Rezolve Ai (NASDAQ: RZLV) unveiled RezolvePay, a merchant-side system that lets consumer AI agents interact with a store's own agents and finish purchases end to end. To show it working, the company published a video of Meta's Muse assistant ordering coffee from a shop's RezolvePay agent for in-store collection, with a receipt that names Muse as the agent that placed the order.

Highlights#

  • The demo is deliberately ordinary: a customer delegates a coffee purchase, Muse negotiates with the merchant's agent, and the order lands ready for pickup. What stands out is the receipt. It identifies the agent behind the purchase, which gives merchants a way to see which AI channels actually produce orders rather than just referring traffic.
  • The architecture is consumer-agent agnostic. Muse is the example, but RezolvePay is built to transact with any shopping assistant a customer brings. RezolvePay CEO Naga Samineni's argument: shoppers will pick different assistants, and retailers need to serve whichever one shows up.
  • Payments run on Rezolve's own rails. The company combines payment orchestration with proprietary infrastructure that includes digital-asset and stablecoin settlement, pitching faster settlement and better acceptance economics for merchants. It also plans to license that infrastructure to platforms, banks, and payment networks.
  • The sizing comes from the release: roughly $30 trillion in annual global retail sales, with a cited McKinsey estimate that agents could mediate $3 trillion to $5 trillion of consumer commerce by 2030. The launch follows Rezolve's October 6 Investor Day, where Samineni laid out the split between consumer agents and merchant-side technology.

Why it matters#

Most agent-payment headlines cover the consumer's end of checkout. This one is the merchant's answer: an agent on the store side to negotiate with, rails that settle in stablecoins, and receipts that attribute each order to a specific agent. Attribution plus settled payment is the raw material of agent reputation, because you cannot score a counterparty you cannot see.
